JobStein.io is a resume scanning tool operated by One Stop Assist. This page explains, in plain language, what happens to your data. If anything here is unclear, email hello@jobstein.io and we will answer it directly.
What we collect
Your resume. When you run a scan we read the file you upload and extract the text from it.
The job posting. The text you paste into the second box.
Your email address, but only if you create an account.
Basic technical data. Your IP address is hashed before it is stored, and we keep the hash only to count free scans against a daily limit. We cannot recover the original address from it.
We do not ask for your date of birth, your address, your phone number, your salary or your identity documents, and you should never send them to us.
How long we keep it
Without an account: your resume is read once, the report is generated, and the file is discarded. Nothing is retained.
With an account: your scans are stored so you can return to them, and so that features like the cover letter and the tailored download can work without you uploading the file again. They stay until you delete them. One button in your account settings removes everything at once.
Handoffs from the marketing site are stored for a maximum of two hours and are deleted the moment they are opened.
Who else sees it
To generate a report we send the text of your resume and the job posting to an AI model through OpenRouter, which routes the request to a model provider. This is necessary for the product to function. We have model training disabled on our account, which means providers reached through it are not permitted to train on your content.
The other companies that process data on our behalf are our hosting provider, our database provider, and our payment processor, which handles your card details directly so that we never see or store them.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with recruiters, employers or advertisers. Nobody is buying your CV from us, because we are not selling it.
The job search
When you use the job board, we build a profile from your resume and use it to search public job listing APIs. We send the search terms, not your resume. The listings we show you belong to the sites they came from, and clicking through takes you to them under their own terms.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy. Email hello@jobstein.io and we will action it within 30 days, usually far sooner. You do not need to give a reason.
If you are in the UK or EU, our lawful basis is the performance of a contract for the scans you asked for, and legitimate interest for the abuse prevention counter.
Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in, and nothing else. There is no advertising tracking on this site.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, for anything material, email account holders before it takes effect.
